The terms Counselling & Psychotherapy are often used interchangeably which can be alittle confusing when searching for a therapist. Counselling supports you as you journey through the more practical or immediate issues you are experiencing. Counselling is often briefer than psychotherapy and may only require a number of sessions to address or resolve your issues. A number of different theraputic modalities will be drawn upon based on your individual needs.
Psychotherapy is perhaps a more intimate journey that aims to bring unconscious elements within your life into consciousness. Here you are provided a space to explore long standing patterns, behaviours, thoughts & feelings that may be preventing you from moving forward. A commitment & investment of your time, energy & resources is required as sessions are held weekly. Emphasis is placed on the client/therapist relationship where we forge a strong, secure & collaborative partnership to navigate your feelings, build resilience & create more authentic & healthy ways of relating to your self & the world around you.
Discovery Sessions are a combination of contemporary counselling & healing modalities to help integrate spirituality into your day to day life. Sessions are based on your individual needs after an indepth discussion and will draw on contemporary counselling models, meditation and mindfulness skills to help silence the mind and find your center.
